PHFC 0
Cootey XI 0
PHFC youngster Robert Harlow became the first goalkeeper in PHFC history to keep a clean sheet, but a resiliant back-line
display wasn't matched by the attack as the game finished 0v0.
The game was abandoned at half time when the Cootey XI decided to withdraw, much to the frustration of PHFC, who were
begining to dominate the game.
The match centered around the midfield of both teams, the ball spent alot of time in the middle of the park in the early
stages but PHFC stepped up a gear and took the game to Cootey's XI. Coulson went close midway through the second half was
his shot was well held, Danny Garbould found himself clear only to see his tame shot foiled by the keeper. Lee Jones pulled
the strings in the middle of the park and created a number of chances whilst for Cootey's XI, Rory Cooke dictated their game
in his creative role.
Althought PHFC outplayed their opponents, Cootey's team battled hard and were denyed the win when Richard Coote himself
missed a golden chance 5minutes before half time. The ball was slipped to Coote 5 yards out and with the PHFC defence gone
walkabout's it looked a certain goal, Coote stretched out his leg but somehow missed most of the ball and the ball trickled
wide. PHFC rallied on for the winner but couldn't breach Cootey XI's backline.
At Half Time Cootey's XI decided enough was enough and left, even turning down the offer of a penalty shootout to decide
a winner, in offical FA rules the result should be a 3v0 win for PHFC. But where is the pride in that? PHFC want revenge and
they want to win the game fair & square.
So its 2 games unbeaten now and with lots of positives to come out of the game, it sets the boys up for a long hard and
exciting summer of football.
